Have you experienced or witnessed discrimination?  Here’s what you can do.

If you or someone you know has experienced signs of discrimination, we can help. Here are three steps to get started:

REMEMBER. Think through your experience, from the time you saw an ad or made a call, to an appointment or follow-up conversation. No part of the process should discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender (including sexual orientation and gender identity), familial status, national origin, disability, marital status, or age. Additionally, do you know of other people who had a different experience than you did?

RECORD. Write down names, addresses, and phone numbers of individuals, agents, properties, companies and witnesses involved, as well as of any person who may have had a different experience with the same individual or company.  Note dates, times, and comments from conversations or other incidents.  Keep copies of advertising, letters, emails, and any other documents or information.

REPORT. Call us at (616) 451-2980. You can also email us.  We will walk you through a series of questions to learn more, help you identify and further document potential discrimination, and take steps to investigate the situation.  Please note that our office, located at 20 Hall Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507, is closed to the public until further notice.

Note: We accept anonymous complaints and are strictly committed to confidentiality.
