FHCWM’s 33rd Annual Fair Housing Workshop Series: Toward the Goal of Justice Together
DATE/TIME: The FHCWM’s 33rd Annual Fair Housing Conference will be held online on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM.
SCHEDULE:
8:15 am – Check-in/Networking - you will have the option to use your microphone and/or camera to 'meet' other attendees at virtual tables!
8:30 am - Plenary featuring George Lipsitz , Longing for Justice Together in the Midnight Hour: Why Fair Housing Matters Now
9:15 am - Workshops
11:15 am - Virtual Networking, Event Program, and Keynote presentation from Bryan Greene

DETAILS: NEW this year, the FHCWM is excited to offer an inspiring plenary session by George Lipsitz, University of California, Santa Barbara. This year’s Event Program will include the presentation of the 2021 Fair Housing Award; a poetry performance by Grand Rapids' newest poet laureate, Ericka "Kyd Kane" Thompson; and a Keynote presentation from Bryan Greene, National Association of REALTORS®.
WORKSHOPS: This year’s conference will also feature TWO workshop options for attendees to choose from. Workshops will cover the following topic areas:
- Understanding & Effectively Combating Sales Discrimination (CE Marketplace Course Code C095337, 2 Hours Legal); only available on 4/22/2021
- Tackling Tough Topics to Ensure Fair Housing Compliance

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: The FHCWM is pleased to announce that the Understanding & Effectively Combating Sales Discrimination workshop has been granted certifictaion under CE Marketplace guidelines for 2 hours of legal education credits for real estate professionals. Please have your License Numbers on hand and use the link provided in the workshop session to complete an attendance verification form.
CONFERENCE COST: The registration cost for this event is only $30. This registration cost assists the FHCWM with the costs of providing this exciting educational opportunity, which is being held online for the first time. Please note that there are discounted rates available on the registration form and scholarships for non-profits, students, seniors, those experiencing financial hardship, etc. Please call us to inquire about full scholarships.
SENIOR DISCOUNT: We have a limited number of FULL scholarships available for Kent County senior citizens (underwritten by the Kent County Senior Millage). If interested, please call us at (616) 451-2980 and do NOT fill out the online registration form.
