Lakeshore Fair Housing Breakfast
October 16, 2019
The Fair Housing Center of West Michigan and Lakeshore Advisory Board is pleased to annouce plans for the 13th Annual Lakeshore Friends of Fair Housing: Opening Doors to Housing Choice Breakfast which will feature an engaging keynote presentation by Tonika Johnson (Photographer and Activist). She will share information on her innovative, powerful multi-media project, “Folded Map,” a visual investigation of community that illustrates Chicago's residential segregation that resulted in bringing residents together for important conversations about community. Chicago, like many Michigan communities, uses a grid system of streets. Ms. Johnson used addresses to identify and directly compare photographs and videos of North and South side blocks.
The Lakeshore Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. at the Baker Lofts in Holland (217 E. 24th Street). There is no cost to attend this event, but advance registration is required. Please register here.
