Experience

Since 1980, The Center has successfully fulfilled contracts with every level of government as well as housing industry groups and various private organizations. For several units of government receiving HUD-Community Development Block Grant funds, including Holland, Grand Rapids, Wyoming and Kent County, services provided under these agreements have included the intake and handling of individual complaints of discrimination, complaint-based testing and survey testing, provision of technical assistance, and community education outreach programs. In cooperation with five other Michigan FHCs, the Center has provided professional services to MSHDA and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development. The Center has also provided professional research services to the cities of Holland, Battle Creek, Portage (MI), Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, Norton Shores, Wyoming, East Lansing, and several private organizations.
