Housing Discrimination Takes Many Forms.

Examples:

An African American woman and her husband, who is white, look at a house for rent. The landlord states that he doesn't agree with interracial marriages.
A white couple inquires about a house for sale in an integrated neighborhood. The real estate agent steers them toward homes in predominantly white neighborhoods.
A young woman calls to inquire about an apartment for herself and her young child. When she asks the leasing consultant if they accept Section 8, the agent say, "Oh no, I'm sorry. We don't take Section 8 or pets!"
A family of four applies for a two-bedroom apartment. Their application is denied because the apartment complex only allows three people per two-bedroom apartment.
A couple with a two-year old wants to rent a second floor apartment with a balcony. The leasing agent tells them that would be impossible because their policy requires children under the age of seven to reside on the first floor.
An individual with a handicap submits an application for an apartment nearly suitable to his needs, but is denied housing because of the reasonable modification or accommodations required.
